Good Times in Btown

So, my wife and I have officially made it to Bloomington, Indiana and have gotten somewhat settled in to our new place. What I am quickly learning is that going out to meet new classmates can lead to some pretty memorable conversations and experiences. I am already impressed with the diversity and breadth of experiences of this group of enthusiastic classmates. Just last night I met someone who has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, another individual who lived in eastern Africa for two years helping local villagers, and an entrepreneur who has employees in Belarus. The experience is already beating my expectations and I can't wait to continue to learn from my fellow MBAs!

Blogging Huh?

Hello All!

I am new to the blogosphere, so bear with me as some of the posts may be awful, possibly even unreadable…but I digress.

So what is this blog about, what is typebforbiz? I am beginning the next journey in my professional life. I am  an MBA 2013 candidate at IU’s Kelley School of Business, so I will leave my current role as VP of Wheeler Truck Service, my family’s business. This blog will document the journey of a Type B personality in the MBA and business world, where Type A folks supposedly reign. Hopefully I can disprove the notion that a laid back, nice guy can’t be as successful in the business world. I don’t subscribe to the theory that one has to read Sun Tzu’s “Art of War” to be a successful corporate exec or entreprenuer (and not just because I didn’t make it through the first chapter).

Well, we will see how this whole "blogging" thing works out....enjoy.
